ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
WAIPAWA BRANCH VISITS NAPIER.
Members of the Waipawa division were the guests of the Napier division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade on Wednesday evening, when the members of the Napier division demonstrated to them the various changes in stretcher drills, loading of spinal injuries and other changes recentlv introduced.
In welcoming the guests, Superintendent C. H. Butcher spoke of the growing importance and recognition of the St. John Ambulance movement throughout the British Empire, and stated that he hoped that this would be the forerunner of many other visits in order to foster a closer unity between the two divisions and the Order that they repre-
sented. Mr R. S. Munro, district officer, who was also present, spoke of the pleasure it gave him to see the Waipawa division present that evening, and urged members to take the greatest interest in their work as the Government depended more than ever on the St. John Ambulance Brigades to provide trained men in the event of any crisis brought about by the present state of world affairs. Superintendent Hutchings, on behalf of the Waipawa Brigade, stated that the visit had proved to them of the greatest value, especially the various demonstrations given, and complimented the Napier division on its splendd store and equipment, and the general efficiency and organisation of the brigade. Before the visitors departed they were entertained to supper.
