Beaupartier has been scratched for the Wanganui Cup, run to-morrow. Lady Purst is next engaged in the Herries Memorial Cup at Te Aroha on Saturday. Siegmund is to start next in the Wanganui Cup, but at the week-end no rider had been secured for him. The remaining permits of the Dannevirke Racing Club, those used in recent y r ears for the meetings held, at Woodville in April, have now been purchased by the Manawatu Racing Club, and they will be utilised in future for a steeplechase meeting at Awapuni early each winter, flic dates selected for this year’s meeting are May 19th and 20th. It is understood that the consideration given by the Manawatu Club for the permits will enable the Dannevirke Club to wipe oft its indebtedness and so be wound up. The champion New Zealand colt Defaulter had a satisfactory trip across the Tasman aboard the. Wan-
ganella. He has gone into M. Poison’s Randwick stables. Trainer F. Roberts expects Defaulter to be ready to race "within a fortnight. He says he is not afraid of the “mighty Ajax.” RACING FIXTURES.
