HAWKE’S BAY SHOW.
SCHEDULE OF CLASSES. The schedule for the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Spring Show, which is to take place on October 17th and 18th, is now available to all interested, and the secretary (Mr A. M. Retemeyer) will be pleased to forward a copy by return mail on application to P.O. Box 145, Napier. The schedule is without doubt the most comprehensive yet issued by the society, and stud breeders and all interested should obtain a copy without delay. Many new features have been added, also numerous challenge trophies and special cash prizes. Of the new classes attention is called to the section for fleece wool. The horse section, which has always been a feature of the Hawke's Bay Show, is most liberally endowed with trophies and cash prizes. In the classes for heavy-weight hack, lady’s hack and qualified hunter tile cash prizes alone amount to forty guineas, and in the horse competitions, in addition to the cash prizes there are a number of valuable trophies to be competed for. All classes of horses, cattle, sheep and pigs are provided for, and in addition comprehensive sections are included for dogs, poultry, bread, butter, honey, bacon, fleece wool, needlework, knitting, school work, woolclassing, cattle and sheep judging and numerous horse competitions. General entries close on Wednesday, 26th September, and live stock on 29th September.
