(Own Correspondent)

The large number of visitors that attended the Town Hall on Wednesday night was a guarantee of the popularity of the Waipawa Brass Band, who were tendered a complimentary social that evening by the residents of the town and district. Dancing was kept up to an early hour, and the pleasure of the evening wasenhanced by the following social items, all of which were heartily encored : —Song, Miss Petersen; duet, Misses Stack and Milburn; glee, by the Waipawa Quarette Party and two trios by the Te Aute College students. A complimentary speech was delivered by Mr J. J. Langridge. Excellent music was provided by the Band under tlie conductorship of Mr B. Cosgrove, assisted by local amateurs. Great praise is due to Miss Stack, under whose capable management the evening was conducted. In the afternoon /the Band gave an open-air concert in front of the Town Hall, which was much appreciated.
