Y.M.C.A. DAY.

WAIPAWA DISTRICT’S EFFORT.

Saturday at the Ladies’ Patriotic Committee’s Shop was practically a Y.M.C.A. day, and the results are extremely satisfactory. The total amount taken for the day was £lB4 13s 9d, and of this Os (id was ear-marked for the Y.M.C.A. Trench Comforts Fund. The ladies who organised the collection are to be congratulated on the result of their efforts. The following donations were received in addition to those acknowledged on Saturday:— Further Y.M.C.A.—H. W. White (Onga) £5, E. Wilson (Onga) £3 3s, Freemantle Bros. £2 2s, Mrs Jack Bibby £2 2s, M. Attention is directed to an advertisement in this issue calling a meeting of the Ladies’ Committee for Thursday afternoon for the purpose of allocating funds and packing Christmas parcels for the boys. It is proposed to include in the parcels the following:—Shortbread, tongues, condensed milk and cocoa or coffee, sugar, cigarettes, tobacco and cigarette papers, socks, pipe, handkerchief, bovril, sanitary paper. Several of the bags sold in connection with the mystery bag campaign have not been claimed, and those holding tickets are requested to present them on Thursday at the shop.
