Chaplains are classified as chanlnins to the force 1 . 4th class, 3rd class, 2nd class, Ist class, or ms chaplain-general. 'Hie correct designation for a chnnl.ain of lower rank than chaplain-general is “Rev. J. . chaplain to tbe forces Ist class.” Chaplain 9; do not possess military ranks, nr? graded as captains, lieutenant-colonels, etc., for the purpose of pay, and wear badges only as an indication of rank.
