NOTICES. WAIPAWA COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE OF INTENTION TO STRIKE RATE. PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waipawa County Council at a meeting to be held in the Council Chambers, Waipawa, on FRIDAY, the 4th day of August, 1916, to make and levy under the provisions of “The Rating Act, 1908” and Section 117 of “The Counties Act, 1908” and the several amendments thereof, respectively, the undermentioned rates with- . in the respective Ridings of the County of Waipawa, such rates to be for the period commencing on the first day of July, 1916, and ending on the thirtieth day of June, 1917, and to ‘ be payable in one sum at the County Office, Waipawa, on the first day of September, 1916: A genera! rate on ONE PENNY in the £ on the rateable value of all rateable propeitv within the Waipawa, Hampden, Yakaraka, Ruataniwha and Takapau Ridin"=. Notice is hereby given r that at a Special Meeting of the Waipawa County Council held on FRIDAY, the 7th day of July, 1916, the following resolution was passed and will he submitted for confirma- ‘ tion at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on FRIDAY, the 4th day of August, 1916, at the Coun- ] eil Chambers:— RESOLUTION. “That in pursuance and exercise of the “Counties Act, 1908,” the ‘“Rating Act, 1908,” the “Water Supply Act, 1908,” and the amend- ! ments thereof respectively, and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf the Waipawa Council hereby ’ I resolves by way of Special Order as follows: “For the purpose of providing for the maintenance of the Lindsay Water-race the said Council hereby makes and lev' a separate rate of one penny one-third of a penny (1 l-3d) in tl.o £ on the rateable valu. <f all .ateojle property of the Li .usay Water-race Special Rating District.” “For the purpose ci providing for the maintenance of the Argyll Water-race the said Council .icreby makes and levies a separate rate of one penny (Id) in the £ on the rateable valu of all rateable property of tlie Argyll Water-race Special Rating D rict. ” “For iie purpose of providing for the maintenance of the Forest Gate Water-race the said Council hereby mak s and levies a separate rate of three farthings (|d) in the £ on the rateable > alue of all rateable property of the Fo?est Gate Waterrace Special Rating District. ” Such rates to he for the period commencing on -e first ly of July, 1916, and ending on tl 3dth day of June, 1917, and to be payable in one sum at the County Ofiiee, Waipawa, oil the first day of September, 1916.
