A lengthy communication was n ceived from the secretary of tli Napier branch of the British Madid Association (through the rcsidel medical officer), stating that owingl the heavy demand made on tli<* in«S cal profession through the war mak ing the lot of lodge doctors in the Dominion very strenuous, tli?! appealed to lodge members to liglitd their labors by acting strictly to tli rules, re hours of consulting, etc. 1 was decided to accede to the Medici Association’s request, and ineinbai are to be notified accordingly, thd present agreeing that the request cl the association was a reasonable one Bro. W. A. Chambers, IM’.G.Mj was welcomed on his safe return froi the N.Z. branch meeting held r cently at Greymouth. The brotil gave an interesting account of tl delegates’ experiences in hospital) Westport, where it appears t| Hawke’s Bay delegates were the vi tims of a pleasant bombardment, d pecially our local member and tk Napier member, the member frt Ormoiidville evidently acting as d pire. Smith, N.Z. Grandmastt in the course of his address at Off mouth, stated that no fewer thi eleven hundred Oddfellows of the N branch had enlisted and gone to tl front. This should be gratifying' Oddfellows, especially when we tl into consideration that several Id and influential districts still renw outside our N.Z. branch and will I>*j no doubt also sent their quota to tl front, thus showing that o<ldfelicj act up to the prefix of all M.U.
