Some two ago a Syd ney resident obtainsd a divorce from his wife, well-known in fashionable oiroles, on the grouno of adultery. Shortly after the wife of another resident was granted divorce on the ground of her husband’s misconduct with the divorced wife first mentioned. In the meantime the two divorcees departed for Son Franoisoo in company. A year later tha lady transferred h«r affections to another gentleman and sailed for Sydney, where they were married Shortly before reaching Honolulu, where they stayed to spend the honeymoon, Wagner, the man who had been deserted in America, appeared on the soene and shot and mortaily wounded the woman then known nB Mrs Stuart He subsequently turned the weapon on himself with fatal results. [Reeeived 12 20 p m, To-day] SYDNEY, Tis day Wagner was a well-known Sydney garage manager. He accompanied the lady to San Francisco and intended to follow her to Sydney, not knowing that she intended to forsake him. He was apprised by wireless and followed in the next steamer to Honolulu. He waited at the hotel until Mrs Stuart, previously known as Mrs Phypers, entered with two ladies. After a short altercation, he shot her aDd then himself. The murdered woman left considerable property, which is willed to the four year-old daughter of her former husband A resident of Sydney takes steps to secure the custody of the child.
