Bowling.
There was a large attendance ou the Waipukurau bowling green yesterday, when two rinks of the looal players and one from Waipawa tried conclusions with three rinks from the Napier Club. Napior were too good for the looal representatives aud won in each rink. The visitors wore most hospitably entertained at luuoheou and a very enjoyable day was spent. Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs O. J. Cooke for the players. The green was in good order and shows signs of improvement. Waipawa Napier. Dick King Ferguson Rollinson Whittington Cunningham Murray (a) II Bull (s) 19 Iu the morning ton heads wore played betweeu the same teams, when the score was, Waipawa 10, Napier 1. The rinks were afterwards changed and twelve heads were played, when Waipawa defeated Critohley, Nicholson, Thorpe and Yates by 15 to G. This rink defeated a Waipukurau riuk skipped by McLean by 32 to 13. Lucas’ rink (Napier) defeated Barnes’ riuk (Waipukurau) by 28 to 10. The Napier and Waipawa Firs Brigade hockey teams played a match at Waipawa yesterday, when the home team won by three goals to nil.
