An Electric Shock.

[Per Press Association] Christchurch, This day. At the intersection of High, Manchester and Lichfield Streets, yesterday, one of the span of wires which hold up the trolly wires fell. A cabman drove over it, although a constable warned him. No sooner had the oab horse stepped upon the wire than it fell writhing to the ground. The constable jerked the reins and got the horse off the wire, sustaining a nasty shock. The horse recovered quickly. The constable had great difficulty in keeping the idly curious away from the wire.
