[Per Press Association.] Dunedin, This day The Union Steamship Benefit Society adopted a resolution authorising the Executive, after conferring with the directors of the company, either to terminate by voluntary dissolution or to amalgamate with some other friendly society favourable to its reception. The chairman mentioned that while the Society had proved of the greatest bene fit to members afloat, so little was it appreciated, that of 2000 employees afloat eligible for membership only IC7 belonged to the sooiety. During the existence of the society the oompany had contributed £4726, equal to 65 per cent of its accumulated funds.
