Mr Cuthbortson has been appointed secretary of the Takapau branch of tho Farmers’ Union vice Mr Yardley, resigned.
Mr A. E. Jull loft for New Plymouth last night, to attend the Oddfellows’ Conference.
Mr A. H. Dillon, managing director of Rose Limited, Dannevirke, has tendero#his resignation.
Mr and Mrs M. J. Staunton, who have been on a visit to Auckland and Wellington, have returned home. Mr L. Anderson, of Ngamoko, Norsewood, offers himself for election as a representative of the Norsewood riding of the new Dinnevirke County.
It is probable that Mr A. MoLean, of Ti Tree Point will be a candidate for the Mangatoro Riding on the Dannevirke County Council at tho approaching election.
Mr and Mrs J. B. A’Deane are about to pay a visit to the Old Country. They leave Wellington by the Ultimaroa on May Ist, and will join the P. and O. Company’s India at Sydney. The late Mr David Syme’s Victorian estate was valued for probate at £879,535. He provides a sum ol £50,000 to bo put aside as a fuud for public institutions, and liberal allowances are made to certain employees.
