(Own Correspondent.) A shook of earthquake wus felt hero last night, about twenty minutes to seven. At a meeting of tho Hookey Club committee, held on Tuesday evening, it was decided to have the ground harrowed and put into batter playing older, also to erect wire netting at the back of goal post. Four now memborp were elected. The mission services held during the past week in the Presbyterian school room are being continued again this week. On Friday evening Mr Strong, from China, will be present and will give an address on the "Christian Missions in China." For the past two days Mr McCarthy, Government land valuer, has been in attendance at the Town Board offices heating objections as to bis values in tbe Waipukurau Town District. In one or two oases satisfactory arguments having been advanced the values will be reduced, but in tbe majority of oases the values will remain as they Are. Tbe Waipukurau tioop of the Hawke’s Bay Mounted Rifles will entrain here this evening en route for the Easter encampment at Johnsonville. At a meeting of the oombined friendly societies it was decided to hold their seoond annual sooial and dance early next month.

McGrath ; throe - quarters, Ryau, Mitchell, Jackson ; five-eighths, Symes and Cooper; half, Sharpin; wing, Shadbolt; forwards, Bailey, Burt, Butcher, Hughes, Burke, Wall, Hamilton. A meeting of tho creditors in Robson, Ware and Co.’s estate was held on Wednesday morning. The Deputy Official Assignee presided, and there were about a dozen creditors present. It was reported that the available assets were as follows:—7 tons llowt of fibre, estimated at £2O per ton, £l6O \ 2 tons lOowt of tow, estimated at £6 per toD, £ls ; three mures, estimated at about £BO ; other assets, about £2 ; total, £257' Against that there was a sum of about £6O for working expenses and contingencies, leaving an available balance of roughly £2OO. Tho wages due to the mill huuds amounted to £SB 18s, and tbe amount due to men working on contract was about £55. The following resolution, carried at tho previous meeting, was confirmed :—"That all wages’ cheques oasbod rank as wages and be paid as preferential claims." It was also resolved, " That all contracting wages’ men and all persons holding dishonoured cheques for contractors’ wages be paid equally with persons holding wages’ cheques as mentioned in the last resolution.’ 1 Mr Newbigin agreed to take over tho mill and plant as specified in bis bill of sale, and also the leuse of tbe ground on which the mill stands, in satisfaction of the bill of sale. The bankrupt aud 0. Hall wore examined on oath with reference to a horse which was alleged to have been sold by Mr Hall to the firm and removed by him prior to tho bankruptcy. Tbe Deputy Official Assignee dotailed the steps which had been taken to dispose of the remaining assets, and his action was approved by the creditors.
