Lawn Tennis.

The popularity of tho Waipawa Lawn Tennis Club has been well maintained for & number of years and the opening of the season is consequently looked forward to with great interest, as apart from the sport provided the gathering is very muoh of a social re-union of the members and their friends. The opening of the present season, which took place this afternoon, was as successful as any that have preceded it and augnrß well for the future success of the club. The weather was fia?, the oonrts in good order and there was a large attendauoe of mcmb.rs and spaotatore. A number of matobei were played and some good form was shown, considering the laok of praotioe. After noon tea was dispensed by Mrs Rathbone and her liberality was largely avails! of.
