KAIKORA.

(OWN CORRESPONDENT.') The Kaikora Te Aute School Committee met last evening. Present Messrs White (chairman), Westmoreland, Clark, Ingleton and Taylor An apology was received from Mr Pickering. The visiting committee reported that everything had been carried out by the contractor satisfactorily ; several improvements were recommended. The Head Maeter’s report was read and requisites asked for to be obtained. A certificate was received from Mr Pickering that the improvements had been faithfully carried out. Mr Hill’s Examination Reports were authorised to be published. Accounts for each school were passed for payment. Yesterday afternoon the PatangataRoad Board held their usual monthly meeting. Captain Howard was grant.d leave of absence. Present:—Messrs White, in the chair, Collins and Clark. The balance at bank to credit was stated to be £2ll 16a 81. With regard to a claim made by the Waipawa Road Board for damage done to road by drays, the Board considered that they would very likely have the same cause for claim when metalling began. Things would be about balanced. The clerk was instructed to write to that effect. The chairman brought up the question of forming a portion of Sorimgeour’s road It was decided to commence as soon as possible at a point between the two, thence on to the gate on that portion of the road to be maintained by the Patangata Road Board. The following accounts were passed for payment : —Carter £2 14s, Sutherland 14s», Horace Baker £5 ss.
