The Mtud. TO STAND THIS SEASON AT ARLINGTON, The pure thoroughbred Clydesdale entire LORD LORNE. LORD LORNE was bred by John Mitchel, Esq., Ballvininac, CainpbelMown ; he is by Sir Garibaldi , dam. Jess, a pure-bred Clydesdale mure, who for three years in succession was distinguished as the first prize-taker at the Campbell town Agricultural Society’s Shows ; her dam also gained four first prizes in succession as a brood mare at the same Society’s Show. Sir Garibaldi was awarded the premium of £4O to serve in the Gaithouse of Keel District in 1856 ; in 1857, £3O for Carlisle; in 1858, £4O for DurufermlLne ; and he was afterwards sold to serve in the CampbclMown Agricultural Society’s District ; Sir Garibaldi is by Garibaldi, who gained the first prize as a three-year-old at the Perth Highland Society’s meeting in 1850. Lord Lome, as a two year-01.1, distinguished himself as a prize-taker, having taken first prize at Kirkintulloch Show ; third at the Glasgow Agricultural Society’s Show ; third at the Highland Society’s Show at Kelso ; and first at +he De3’inin Society’s Show. As a three-year-old (and shown soon after landing in New Zealand) was second to Prince Charlie at the Christchurch Show (the largest in tiie colony). As a five-year-old, first prize at the Hawke’s Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Show. As a six-year-old, second at the Wanganui Show (being beaten only by the invincibl Lofty, who has never been beaten in a show’ ground), and in 1878 at Wanganui, second to Lofty, and first prize and champion at the RangitikeiManawalu Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Show. Lord Lome is a beautiful dapple bay, with black points, splendid action, fine bone, good mild temper, and possessing all the qualifications of a pure-bred Clydesdale Terms : £5 5s for single mares ; two or more, £4 4s each. SIR CHARLES is a beautiful dapple bay, with black points, rising live years old, with great fiat bone, and splendid feet, and is a perfect model of the Clydesdale breed. Sir Charles is by the celebrated horse Prince Charlie, a horse that was never beaten on this side of the line. More of his progeuy have turned out prizelakers than of any other horse ever in the colony. Sir Clmrlos is out of the celebrated imported mare Lady, by Lord Eglinton (imported), out of an imported mare. Sir Charles has been shown four times, and carried off first honors wherever shown, lie has proved himself a sure foal-getter, and his stock speak for themj selves. He is thoroughly staunch and quiet in harness. Terms, £5 5s ; two or more mares as ! per agreement. Groomage, ss, to be paid I at first sei vice. First-class paddocks, with plenty of j water provided. All care taken but no responsibility. Mares to be paid for when stinted, duo notice of which will be given. After notice, a charge of 2s 6d will be made for grazing. All mares left at Mr Pettit’s, Waipawa, or Mr McKenzie’s, To Aute, will be forwarded to the horse free of charge.
