CAMBRIDGE PROGRESS
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEETING OF EXECUTIVE . . At the monthly meeting of the Chamber of Commerce executive held on Thursday evening last the headmaster of the Cambridge School, Mr S. B. Dunn, wrote inviting representatives of the Chamber to attend a meeting of all interested bodies at the School, on July 21. The meeting is to discuss the question of raising funds for the purpose of providing the children at both primary and secondary departments with additional facilities to those already provided by the Education Department.
The president and Mr A. C. Wallis were deputed to represent the Chamber.
The nightwatchman presented a detailed report of his service for the period.
A feature was his references to the number of lights and radiators left on.
It was decided to approach the Borough Council again and ascertain what progress had been made towards the provision of bus shelters at the Anglican Church and the Hall Street corners.
The president remarked that particularly was a shelter needed at the Anglican Church corner these wet days, and this prompted Mr Wallis to remark that the same fully applied to the Hall Street corner.
