STUCK IN THE SNOW
TWO CAMBRIDGE MOTORISTS ON THE DESERT ROAD Messrs K. L. Wilkinson and/J. Butler, of Cambridge, had the e/perience of being well and, truly styck in the snow when oh the way tp Waiouru Military Camp last week/ They were proceeding along: the Desert Road only a portion f of . wMch had been cleared. it/ The snow was fulfe/a foot thick on a 10-mile portion and 1 everything was alright so long as one could keep the car to the one set of wheel tracks, but luck was out and soon another car approached from the opposite direction. It was in trying to pass one another that both vehicles became well embedded in the soft and slippery snow. It was fortunate that the occupants of the other car had spades and soon side tracks were cleared so that the cars could pass.
Mr Wilkinson strongly advises any distinct motorist taking the same route to take a spade or shovel.
