THE MAYORAL ELECTION
MR K. L. WILKINSON TO STAND AGAIN When an “Independent” representative was in cbnversation with Mr K. L. Wilkinson yesterday, the forthcoming local body elections were mentioned and when Mr Wilkinson was asked if he had any thoughts on the subject he replied that it was his considered intention to again offer his < services to the people of Cambridge and he would stand for the Mayoralty. It will be recalled that in the previous elections on May 27, 1944, Mr Wilkinson opposed the sitting Mayor, Mr Walter MOore and the voting was 564 for Mr Moore and 473 for Mr Wilkinson. ’ Mr Wilkinson was a member of the Borough Council for nine years prior to the election.
