WEDDING

FINLAY—WESTON. The Cambridge Baptist Church, was recently the scene of a very pretty wedding, when Mary (Dawn) Weston only daughter of the Rev. T. Weston, was married to Arthur Stanley Finlay, youngest son of Mrs and the late Matthew Finlay, of Horahora. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F. A. Parry, Rotorua, and Mrs B. M. Finlay was the organist. The bride, who entered the church with her father, looked charming in a gown of deep cream satin, fashioned on classical lines, the train of which was edged with Honiton lace, an heirloom of the family. Her veil was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and she carried a shower bouquet' of cream freezias and jonquils."

Attending the bride as bridesmaids were the Misses Joan Clague, Wellington, and Bessie Finlay, of Puketaha. Their gowns of pale green and lemon taffeta respectively, were fashioned on similar lines to that of the hide’s. In their hair they wore sprays of freezias and jonquils, to tone with thfeir bouquets of the same flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs George Finlay, Tauranga, as bestman, and Gordon Finlay, Puketaha, as groomsman. The duties of ushers were carried out by Messrs Matthew Finlay, Tauranga, and Arthur Finlay, Puketaha. A reception was held later at the Centreway tearooms, Hamilton, where Mrs Weston received the guests wearing a model wine coloured lace frock, relieved with a shoulder spray of pansies and maidenhair fern, and worn with matching accessories. Assisting her was Miss Finlay, who looked very smart in a light blue suit with shoulder spray to tone, and r. navy hat. When Mr. and Mrs A. S. Finlay left by caravan on their honeymoon, the bride wore a military styled red and black suit, with black hat.
