ANOTHER SEASON COMMENCES SATURDAY'S PRACTICE GAMES On Saturday afternoon last the local Rugby grounds were once again a scene of activity, for practice games were played in preparation for the opening of the new season's competitions.

At Victoria Square Hautapu seniors and juniors met teams from the Ohaupo Club. The senior game was splendidly contested and resulted in a pointless draw. Mr C. G- Wallace was the referee. The junior, game was won by Hautapu by 20 points to 3. Mr J. Miller was in charge of this game. \ At the High School ground the newly-formed High School Old Boys defeated Marist juniors by 5 points (a converted try) to 3 points (a try). Mr C. Paterson jnr. was the referee. Frankton thirds defeated High School thirds by 11 points to 5. At the Leamington Domain members of the Leamington and Roto-o-rangi teams had practice games, /
