"THE OKLAHOMA_ KID" * TOMORROW AND WEDNESDAY An action-packed 'draritk of America's greatest westward surge, "The Oklahoma Kid, n; 'wifii Barnes Cagney as the title character, will J be the feature picture at the Tud6r Theatre afnd A stirring' cavalcade' of the opening of a" great' territory, it is one of the year's largest productions, and includes ' over 3,000 people in its huge outdoor scenes, besides the featured cast which includes Humphrey Bogart, Rosemary Lane, and many other noted players. Though he wears the sombrero, buckskin jacket and high-heeled riding boots of the frontier gunfighter of the nineteenth century, though he carries a brace of old Colt six-shooters on his hips instead, of a modern automatic in a shoulder holster, though he discloses that he is a real hell-for-leather horseman, Cagney is fundamentally the same sort of fellow as thrilled audiences in such memorable productions as "Angels With Dirty Faces" and "Public Enemy." In the two productions mentioned it will be recalled, Cagney was outside the pale of the law. At the outset of the story he i£.<a bandit but not just a conscienceless | robber and killer. He is an advert" Iturous . youth who. has become a isort of Robin Hood of the Southjwest. Eventually he is, in effect, .enlisted on the side of the law and .order, although he has. really taken the law into his own hands. However, he performs a necessary service of public vengeance so bravely and so completely that he is forgiven all his past misdeeds. Screening finally tonight will be "Too Many Husbands" starring Jean Arthur, Melvyn Douglas and Fred Mac Murray, and also "Flight at
Midnight," with Phil Reagan and Jean Parker in the leading roles. .
