SCOUT ACTIVITIES

THE CAMBRIDGE TROOP A NEW INSTRUCTOR On Saturday two of the committee members introduced members of the Cambridge Boy Scouts to Mr R. Wilson, who has agreed to assist in instructional work. He gave a short talk, in which he suggested that the troop meet on Wednesday nights, instead of Saturday afternoons as has been done in the past. Mr Wilson recently arrived in Cambridge from Dunedin, where he has been associated with Scouting activities for many years. He is a member of the staff of "The Waikato Independent." Recently two new boys, G. Young and D. Clayton, joined the troop. At Saturday's parade a start was made with flag, parade and inspection. During the last month the troop has been having Kim's Game —a test for Second Class^-and v manj' of those tested, have passed. The Cub Pack, which meets at the Peace Memorial Hall, is rapidly being enlarged, as there are now about thirty members—who are divided into five sixes. The two new sixers are John Miller and Allan McCandlish. Other Cubs who were promoted to seconds are J. Ray, C. Bellamy, B. Vosper and T. May.
