DATES ALTERED

ST. PETER'S QUEEN CARNIVAL

AN EARLIER CORONATION A a general meeting of committees of the St. Peter's Queen Carnival, it was decided to advance the closing date of the carnival to August 25, and the date of the Coronation Pageant and Ball to September 6 next. It was regretted that a clashing of dates had occurred with the Competitions Society as it was recognised that the society had a prior right to the usual date- of the festival, the first week in October, and the committee had no wish to hold any function that would be detrimental to the success of the competitions. The hon. secretary, Mr M. O'N. Franklin was asked to convey to the Competitions Society the Carnival Committee's best wishes for the success of the 1939 festival.
