DEFENCE OF NEW ZEALAND
(To the Editor) Sir, , ,;,- ~,-,, ... ... All who-were fortunate enough to hear the addresses by Major General Sir Andrew Russell and Colonel Barrowclough in Cambridge this week, musUhave been greatly impressed by .their remarks. They brought home very clearly the need for increasing the security of our wonderful, little country and, at the same time, propounded the aims of the Defence League, which to my mind embody an excellent scheme for military training. A branch of the League has been formed in Cambridge, arid it is up to everyone to give it fullest support. The provisional committee appointed at the - meeting is strong and representative, and will no doubt be enlarged in the near future. It is pleasing to see that young men are included on the committee, but I think it would be as well to add several hldy representatives, since womenV services will be just as essential as those of the men, in case of war. Yours, etc.,"' FORMER TRAINEE.
