SENIOR TERRITORIAL
TRANSFER TO CAMBRIDGE FAREWELL AT TAUMARUNUI Last week at Taumarunui the Taumarunui Infantry Platoon held a farewell social for their oldest member, Sergeant-Major G. McDermott, who was leaving to reside in Cambridge. Presenting Sergeant-Major McDermott with a handsome clock, Lieutenant St. John said he had been associated with him for a number of years and had always found him to be very efficient;
Mrs McDermott, mother of Ser-geant-Major McDermott, was presented by Corporal Milne with a beautiful pottery vase, and Mr T. McDermott with a pair of hair brushes. V .
" Mrs McDermott had been a prominent member of the Territorial Ladies' Committee and Mr T. McDermott has always been a willing helpen;;" . "
Sergeant-Major McDermott, who is opening a restaurant in Cambridge, intends to maintain an active interest in the territorial movement.
