CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
CAMBRIDGE GUN CLUB i ~ OPEN HANDICAP SHOOT Competitors from far and near competed in a very successful open handicap shoot of the Cambridge Gun Club, which was held on the ■ club’s range on Saturday. Sportsmen were present from Otorohanga, Putaruru, Morrinsville, Palmerston - North and Hamilton. Excellent shooting was a feature of the fixture and in every event many competitors shot the possible. The results of the meeting w«re:— Open Handicap Shoot of 10 birds ~ 4or £lo.—Twenty-four competitors, and the stake was divided by the fol- • ’ lowing, who shot the possible: C. iSeddon (21yds), W. Elliot (17yds), McCready (14yds), A. Aitken (17 yds), Bartlett (14yds), Rutter (18 yds). Six-bird Eye Opener.—Thirty-one The following shot ’ the possible and divided the stake: /Sharp (15yds), Brindle (13yds), v'M. Pratt (19yds), McFarlane (13yds), Bartlett (13yds), W. Smith (14yds), ;&Percival (13yds), R. Maher (14yds), ,-Bozun (15yds), A. Aitken (16yds). ’ Seven-bird Sweepstake.—TwentyV five competitors, and the stake was divided by the following who shot V/the possible: A. Aitken (18yds), '■rßutter (20yds), Bartlett (15yds), BoIpzun (15yds), Holmes (12yds), W. . Aitken (15yds) O’Kane (14yds). Six-bird Gim Crack.—Nineteen competitors, of which the following • : |fshot all their birds: R. Maher (12 •yds), M. Pratt (18yds), Elliot (17 yds) Bozun (16yds), Holmes (14yds), Rutter (18yds) McFarlane (12yds), Grosbie (12yds) and Sharp (14yds). In the shoot-off Pratt won the event by cracking the bird from 32yds.
