LIVE STOCK MARKET

CAMBRIDGE SALE VALUES DEMAND FOR MEDIUM CATTLE A good yarding of cattle, cow and heifer beef, comprising mostly medium quality classes, was offered at the Cambridge Stock Sale, held yesterday. Competition was keen, resulting in a total clearance, values showing a marked improvement. Boner cows and potter bulls also sold firmly. A pen of Jersey weaner calves were in demand and sold well. ■

The offering of sheep was fair, and included the advertised lines of ewes, but competition was not as keen as anticipated. The bulk was cleared privately. A good entry of fat and store lambs were keenly sought after and values remained firm at late rates.

A medium yarding of pigs came forward and fat classes met with ood competition, selling at late rates. Good store pigs showed no alteration, but weaners met a dull sale many pens failing to reach vendors’ reserves.
