SATURDAY’S GAMES THE CAMBRIDGE CLUB The final of the Anniversary Day local tournament was decided on the Cambridge Bowling Club’s green on Saturday when H. Cropley, B. Anderson, E. Martyn and H. N. Freeman (s) defeated G. Senior, H. Wood, A. Hulme and H. Amyes (s) by 20 points to 14. The game was evenly contested up to the 15th head when the boai'd read 12-all. SOUTH AUCKLAND TOURNEY The final of the South Auckland Bowling Centre’s annual tournament was played on Saturday, when J. Cleary, J. S. Anchor, M. A. Gall and W. Robinson (Hamilton) defeated C. S. Gillies, C. G. Speight, R. H. Whitten and O. Fruish by 21 points to 11.

In the semi-final on Saturday morning Robinson’s team defeated G. James, Dr Tod, A. Pearce and Edgar James (Cambridge) by 20 points to 18. The game was evenly contested, James leading until the concluding stages. The score was 7-all on the seventh head and 12—9 in favour of James on the ninth. Five consecutive touchers were a feature of the eleventh head. After the luncheon adjournment, a trail gave James 4 on the 14th, but then Robinson scored on the next four heads with three singles and a brace. Playing the last head James was one down on the board and Robinson scored one to win by two points. HOWDEN SHIELD TEAM Two elimination games were played on the night green on Saturday' to find the team to represent the club in the Howden Shield contest. Results were: E. Martyn, D. J. Lundon, Edwin James and Edgar James 23 v. R. White, B. Anderson, H. Wood and H. Amyes 19.
