"WHAT OTHER N.Z. WOMEN ARE TALKING ABOUT. The fast bowler of the New Zealand women’s cricket team, which played the Englishwomen, Miss H. Miller, is studying to be a sports mistress, and is at present a student at Otago Girls' High School. * * A marriage of interest to all New Zealand women is that arranged between Mr E. \Y. R. A correspondent pointed, out that the law of the land specifies that it is perfectly legal to be married anywhere, providing the place and tSio time and conditions are specified and complied with. * * * "What is the difference between a small kiss and a big one?”-asked Mr Justice Herdman of a witness who, in divorce proceedings at Auckland, declared that a kiss lie had had on the top of: Mount Eden was "just a small one.” "I leave that to Your Honour,” the witness responded, adding a little later, “I could show you what I mean.” . .

The emergence of women into public affairs iu recent years was touched on bv Mr George Lawn, who was in the chair at a recent lecture delivered by Miss Margaret in Christchurch. "A significant fact in the world to-day is the increasing part being played by women in the reconstruction of broken-down economic and social structures,” lie said. Its rather peculiar taste is satisfied by nuts and morsels of cucumber, which it will take from its owner’s hand. Although only a rat it has its redeeming features, fur besides coming from its hole when called to be admired or at least to entertain visitors, it. is very clean in its habits, .taking down its hole any ; surplus food around the rockery and storing it for the winter. * * * An adventurous New Zealand girl, Miss Amy M.
