MEETING OF EXECUTIVE PRICES REDUCED FOR FESTIVAL A meeting of the executive committee of the Cambridge Competitions Society was held yesterday afternoon, Mrs G. G. L. Taylor presiding. A. new scale of charges for the festival was adopted as follows: Membership ticket, admitting to all sessions in both halls and prizewinners' concert, 8/6; day sessions, adults 1/-, children 6d; evening sessions, adults 1/6, children 1/-; prizewinners' concert, adults 2/-, children 1/-. On the motion of Miss Hanlin it was decided to clminate the afternoon children's prizewinners' concert on Friday and include every class in the evening programme. Miss Hanlin said the honour of winning a first prize entitled the children to appearance at night, and she thought that with efficient ' management the concert could be completed by 10.30 p.m. A rule was decided that all prizewinners appear on Friday, except that exemption will be granted to children under special circumstances if application is made to the secretary before 10.30 on Thursday evening. It Was decided to again offer cups to the winners of the championships. Mr A. G. Boyce was appointed official accompanist for the festival. Owing to the increased entries ■it will be necessary to hold classes in the Parish Hall on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.
