TENNIS ACTIVITY
THE HORAHORA CLUB '• ANNUAL MEETING HELD The Horahora Tennis Club held its annual meeting on Thursday evening, in the Maungatautari No. 2 School. Nearly all the members were present and prospects for the new season arc very bright. The annual report and balance sheet were read, the latter' revealing a healthy financial position. Fees were fixed at the same rates as last year. The following officers were elected: President, Mr .-J. M. Scott; vice-presi-dents, Mr 0. Pound and Mr W. Wright. Secretary, Mr N. Mason. Committee: Mrs C. La Trobe, Mrs N. Mason, Misses Finlay, G. Broad, and E. Simpson, Messrs C. Lp Trobe, T. Scott, H. Newton and Rj/Simpson. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, September 22. \ Mr H. Osborne, who. has been an enthusiastic member apd worker for the club since its inception, and who is row not permanently resident in the district, was unanimously elected a life member. A special vote of thanks .was accorded Mr O. Pound for his splendid work in planting shelter trees around the courts. It was gratifying to sec how well the trees were growing.
