Canterbury had an easy victory over King Country at Christchurch on Saturday for the Ranfurly Shield, the last challenge of the season. The holders, having more speed, back and forward, and better combination, ran out winners by 30 points to nil. Wellington Beaten. Wellington 'representatives suffered their first defeat this season when, they were beaten at Hastings on Saturday ty Hawkes Bay, the scores being 23—20. At Masterton on Saturday Wairarapa defeated Manawatu by 39 points to .17.
