Racing Appeal Upheld.— Appeals by Wenzl Scholium, racehorse owner, W. Goscomb, trainer, and G. Grice, apprentice jockey, against their disqualification for six months by the judicial committee of the Whangarci Racing Club have been upheld by tho Auckland District Racing Committee. Placing Boys in Work.— “ There is not. a. hope of placing a percentage, let. alono a high percentage, of the boys who want work in tho city,’’ said Mr G. M. Keys, vocational guidance officer, speaking on tho boy unemployment problem at the convention of the Young Men’s Christian Association in Christchurch the other evening. “.The boys who want to live in towns to-day will have to change their ideas and be content to work and settle down in the country.”
