SHOW NOTES
, As previously commented upon by tlic judge, there is an excellent exhibition of field' and garden produce at the show in the home industries building. Some exceptionally large onions, potatoes, and tomatoes are exhibited. The six heaviest onions weighed 101 b 2ozs; six heaviest olbs 9£ozs, and six tomatoes, 41b 4ozs. In the hack classes Mis G. M. Ranstead’s Arapac scored four firsts.in four entries. El Arish, the veteran of a hundred show-rings, is by the. well-known sire Mahaki. Few hunters arc there in thuDominion with such a record of ring successes as El Arish and although he ‘is now in the lists of the veterans he is still the despair of owners of promising hunters. 1 ' Capably managed and trained by Mr H. Alan Bell, of Cambridge, El Arish continues to be successful this season. He was judged lady’s champion hunter at the Auckland Metropolitan ,Show last.week, and has come to light again at Cambridge. El Arish will contest the, champion hunter and other principal hunting events to-davT . ■ J:-;*'
