MR ZIMAN BUSY,
On Thursday the County Party can* didate, Mr S. N. Ziman, addressed meetings at Matahura and Orini, also at Waiterimu. In each case the candidate was greeted with good meetings, and spoke on somewhat similar lines to previous addresses. At Matahura he was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence, and a similar vote at Orini, with musical honours.
Yesterday, Mr Ziman spoke at Tauliei in the afternoon, there being a fairly good attendance. The Country Party candidate, Mr S. N. Ziman, had a very good meeting at To Miro, Mr H. P. Hewitt presiding. The candidate spoke on lines similar to previous addresses, arid at the close was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
As advertised in to-day's issue Mr S. N Ziman, Waikato Country Party candidate, -will speak in the Leamington Town Hall this ovening, in continuation of his campaign. THE WAIEATO SEAT. On Thursday Mr Lye spoke at Te Puninga and at Waitoa at night. At the latter centre there was a largo and representative meeting. The candidate gave a spirited address in support of tho Coalition Government and was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence.
Last night Mr Lye spoke at Motuniaoho, and again there was a. large attendance at his meeting, the candidate again being accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
Elsewhere in to-day's issue Mr F. Lye, the official Coalition candidate, announces that he will address the electors in the Town Hall, Cambridge, on Friday evening next. Details will be advertised later. THE RAGLAN ELECTORATE. MR W. LEE MARTIN'S CAMPAIGN.
Yesterday Mr W.'Lee Martin, the sitting member and Labour candidate for the Paglan electorate, addressed meetings at the Cambridge end. of his electorate. He visited Pukekura and Monavale during the day and in tho evening spoke to a well attended meeting at the Roto-o-rangi School. Mr W. Godfrey was in the chair. < Tho candidate was listened to with great interest, and after answering a number of questions in a most satisfactory manner, was accorded a vote oi thanks and. confidence. _ ",,j MUST CBASE BORROWING. MR D. STEWART REID'S VIEWS. Speaking at Huntly on Thursday evening' to a well-attended meeting Mr D. Stewart Roid, Coalition candidate for Raglan, expressed the view that New Zealand must stop borrowing, otherwise the country's finances would not improve. Only a strong Government with a good majority- was capable. of handling such affairs. The next thingto be done was to balance the Budget without increased taxation, and v deal with the matter of unemployment. The speaker was applauded when ho stated he was in favour of reducing the number of members in the House from 80 to 60.
Tho candidate was accorded a vote of thanks.
