, THE SHOW IN 1906. INTERESTING DETAILS. In place of our usual ‘ 1 Twenty-five Years Ago” feature, we give to-day a special series of extracts from the show news from* our issues of Btli and 10th March, 1906. Some of these make interesting comparison with the! facts and figures published elsewhere in this issue dealing with the present show. Many of those who were exhibiting 25 years ago arc still exhibiting to-day. From the list of results avc publish a few that should be of interest: — Horses: Best buggy horse, mare or gelding: N.,Banks’ Lady Pleasanton 1. Best polo pony, not exceeding 14 hands Jas. Taylor .1 and 2. Best tradesman’s turn-out of two wheels, one horse: G. E. Clark and Sons’ Robin 1. Best lady’s hunter: Mrs Norman Banks’ .Starlight 1. Best wire jumper: Dr Robert’s Frolic 1. Cattle: Best pedigree Shornhorn bull, three years or over: Jas. Taylor 1. Best pen of three grade heifers: John Fisher 1. Best bull, one year old: Jas. Taylor 1. , , Mr C. Lake, the well-known settler of Goodwood, who secured first prize last year in the milking competition, divided first and second honours this year with Mr T. H. Kelly, both averaging a total of 111 marks. Mr W. Vosper was fourth with 104.6 marks. There were 28 exhibitors in this class.
