THE CAMBRIDGE CLTJB. FINAL COMMITTEE MEETING. The final meeting of the season was held by the Swimming Club Committee in the bath-house last evening, when there were present, Mssrs T. S. Cray (prsident), W. R. Edwards, Chas. Waghorne, J. Wilkinson, V. G. Boulton, W. Maberly, and the secretary, S. Speight. Clashing of Carnivals. . The delegates to the South Auckland Centre reported that the matter of galas clashing in the centre had been discussed and an assurance given that in future the rules regarding .approval of the -clubs' dates and programmes would be strictly adhered to. N The chairman and other members were not satisfied the rule was definitely defined, and it was decided to recommend to the centre executive that the rule be more clearly defined to ensure that there is no possibility of two clubs in different towns holding galas' on the same night. Herbert Smith Cups. The secretary, Herbert Smith Trust Fund, advised the club that it had agreed to donate cups of the value of £3 3/- each for .boys' 75yds handicap event and girls' 50yds handicap event with miniature cups for the winners, the cups to remain the property of the club. The secretary was instructed to write thanking the secretary of the Trust Fund for the cups. Thanks. The town clerk wrote thanking the club for its donation of £5 to the council. Opening of Bath. Mr Maberly reported that it had been arranged for the bath to be open for .ah hour or so each afternoon, the club to provide someone to act as caretaker, and this had been arranged. The secretary reported that after paying accounts totalling/- £ls there would be a considerable credit balance to carry over to next season. A Dance. It was decided to hold a dance at an early date, when the Hall Cup ana* any other trophies would bo presented.
