BUILDING PROGRESS
IN THE BOROUGH. For the first quarter of the year to March 31, the Borough Council issued permits for buildings in the borough to the value of £4,425 15/-, compared with £4OOB 4/- for the corresponding period of the previous year. The principal permits were for the erection of Lodge Alpha (Masonic) Hall at the corner of Queen and Bryce Streets, ; at an estimated cost of £IBSO ,and three dwellings. " ■
The value of permits issued for the individual months of the quarter were as follow,, with those for the corresponding months of last year shown in parentheses:— January £705 (£797 7/-) February £2747 5/- (£1493 17/-) March £973.10/- (£1717)
