WOMEN’S DIVISION

THE CAMBRIDGE BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING. A meeting of. the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union was held at the club-rooms yesterday afternoon when the president, Mrs J. A. Wallace, presided over a good attendance. Sympathy. The sympathy of the Division was extended to Mr Hamer and family in their recent sad bereavement, the late Mrs Hamer being a member of the Division. Sympathy was also extended to Mrs Strawbridgbi in the recent death of her father. S.A. Provincial Executive. Mesdames Feisst and Hewitt were appointed to represent the branch on the newly constituted S.A. Provincial Executive. Cooking Book. An appeal was made to members to send in recipes to be included in the proposed Dominion Cookery Book, with a special request for soups, meats and savoury dishes, each recipe to be accompanied by a contribution of threepence. Management of Stall. Arising from a request of the S.A. Provincial secretary the branch agreed to assist in the running of a Women '3 Division stall at tho Winter Show. Garden Party. After discussion it was resolved to hold a garden party, if possible, at the Leamington Domain, in aid of the community chest, also local branch funds. March 22nd was suggested as the date for the function. Mrs Feisst was appointed convener and all present were constituted a committee. It was decided to invite the Farmers' Union to assist. , British Farmers’ Visit.

The president made an appeal to members to assist in the catering arrangements in connection with the British farmers ’ visit to Cambridge. After the meeting a dainty afternoon tea was partaken of, Mesdames Wallace and Christie being the hostesses for the afternoon.
