PARENTS' DAY

AT THE LOCAL SCHOOLS. In order to enable parents and others interested to, see something of the work of the children, and to encourage the pupils to excel, all departments of the Cambridge District High School, will be throwfl Open to visitors at times this week. On Thursday afternoon the new High School will be open to public inspection. Here the secondary pupils may be seen carrying out.their duties in an environment immensely more suitable than in their old quarters at the primary department. There is much to interest the public at the High School, apart from the pupils' wojk. There has just been added, a third class-room, and the building is an example of thej latest ideas in school planning and equipment. Although the pupils have been in occupation only two years, the ground improvements effected are extensive, and well worthy of inspection. There will be,displays of work done in the commercial and technical classes, as well as at the regular school classes. On Friday afternoon the primary department (infants and Std. I—6) will be agog with excitement at the idea of the parental visits. Already pupils are vicing with one another in producing samples of drawing, writing ,and handwork for fathers and mothers to admire. Weather permitting, there will be drill and dancing displays at both schools, as well as singing and reciting. A feature of both occasions will be displays of the woodwork models made by the boys and of cookery done by the girls. The committee and teachers extend a hearty invitation to all to attend the displays, and so learn what the schools aim to do, and encourage the children in making the very best of the important y years of their school life.
