IN COLLISION
TWO MOTOR CARS.
DRIVER'S FORTUNATE ESCAPE.
.About 2.30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon a collision between two motor cars occurred at the corner of Grosvcnor and Princess Streets, fortunately without serious injuries to the occupants. It* appears that Mr W. H. "Woolley, who was driving his Ford car left his residence and proceeded along Princess Street to the intersection, when a Buick car, driven by Mr H. Gagen, of .Grosvcnor Street, collided with'the former right at the intersection. The Ford was struck towards the rear portion, and the impact turned it right round to finally bring up against a power pole. When the impact occurred Mr Woolley was thrown out on the road and he sustained a nasty cut over the right eye besides abrasions on the
face, ear and arm. / It was most fortunate that Mr Woolley was able to scramble up off the road, otherwise he might have been run over by Mr Gagen's car: Mr Gagen and two other occupants escaped injury.
Mr Gagen immediately pulled up and went to Mr Woolley's assistance, the latter being conveyed to his home, where it was seen that he was not seri-
ously injured. It was recognised by both drivers that the accident was to a large extent unavoidable, being one of those unfortunate meetings at intersections. The Ford car had the rear right Wheel smashed and the mudguards damaged, while a mudguard on the Buick car was also slightly damaged. Yesterday Mr Woolley was able to resume work as usual.
