RAPE CHARGE. CASE AGAINST JOCKEY. REMAND ON £IOOO BAIL. (By Telegraph—Press Association) MASTERTON, Yesterday. A jockey, Walter Scott Bagby, aged 20, appeared before Mr S. L. P. Free, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day charged with committing rape at Mas* tei'ton on Saturday, A remand was granted and bail was allowed in a sum of £SOO with two sureties each of £250.

Accused's counsel urged the suppression of accused's name on the ground that his license would be cancelled if his name were known, but after considerable argument the S.M. refused the application.
