HAMILTON STOCK SALES. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., report:— At our weekly stock sale in the Frankton yards on Wednesday there was a small yarding of cow and heifer beef and prices were firmer for all classes. Medium weight prime cows and heifers £7 to £7 6/; lighter £5 7/6 to £6 17/6; young and light £4 8/ to £5; unfinished £3 16/ to £4; plain and rough £2 10/ to £2 15/; runners £2 17/ to. £3 13/; best vealers £2 2/ to £3 1/; small young £1 2/ to £2; store cows 36/ to £2 6/; fair S.H. steer calves £2; heifers £1 7/.
Sheep: Only a few pens of medium quality fat ewes were penned, iincl sold at slightly improved : rates realising from 19/10 to 21/3. Bigs: A fair number of fat and store pigs were penned, with only a limited number of good ' quality heavy baconers, which sold at late rates. Medium quality porkers and light baconers were easier and 'all classes of stores were dull of sale. Qood quality heavy baconers £4 4/ to £4 8/; lighter £3 16/ to £4; medium baconers £3 10/ to £3 16/; good porkers and light baconers £2 15/ to £3 5/; medium porkers £2 2/ to £2 10/; light 35/ to £2; stores 27/ to 32/; best slips .18/ to 21/; others 12/ to 15/; weaners 7/ to 10/.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: — At the Hamilton sale on Wednesday last we had a medium yarding of fat cattle and sheep, and a small entry of store cattle. Beef sold at improved rates, and slieep were also slightly firmer. We quote: Prime fat steers £ll to £.1.1 7/6; unfinished steers £8 .10/; prime fat cows and heifeys £7 5/ to £S .12/6; medium fat cows £5 15/ to £6 11/; light fat cows £4. 3/ to £4 .10/; cow in forward condition £2 11/ to £3 5/; dairy cows near profit £0 to £8 10/; fat wetlicrs £1 6/6; fat and woolly lambs 17/6; fat ewes 17/6. Bigs: An average yarding of fat and store pigs came forward. Fat pigs were a little easier than last week’s prices selling up to £4 7/. We quote: Choppers £3 16/ to £4 2/; heavy baeoners £4 t.o £4 7/; medium baconers £3. 12/ to £3 17/; light baconers and heavy porkers £2 16/ to £3; porkers £2 1/ to £2 7/: good Stores.2s/ to 30/; slips .18/ to £1; weaners 9/ to .10/0.
Messrs Dalgcty and Co,, Ltd., report having held their weekly stock sale at Frankton on Tuesday. There was a moderate yarding of beef. Choice quality ox and good young cow and heifer beef was in good demand. Prime oxsold at equal to 31/ and young cow and heifer 20/ per 100. Best j\t'ime young cows sold at up to.£B 11/; ordinary co\V and heifer beef, £5 10/ to £6 5/; inferior, £4 5/ to £5 5/. Only a few store cattle yarded. Afew ‘ -iVellgrown weaner steers, £2. Dairy heifers and cows sold fit £4 to £B'according to quality, Only, fat sheep yarded. Prime Wethers 25/0 to 28/; prime ewes 16/3 to 21/;'fat woolly Jambs 21/; forward 17/6. There was a moderate yarding of pigs. Rriees were a shade higher, for baconers and porkers. Stores sold at late values.
