Master Printers’ Industrial Association of Employers at Dunedin on Saturday, Mr W. Clement Cargill, editor-manager of the Morrinsville Star, was elected vice-president. , J* .Sir James and Lady Parr, who were spending the week-end in Hamilton, motored over to Cambridge on Sunday afternoon. Sir James and Lady Parr left by the express in the evening for Wellington.
Mr A. Iv. Out of respect to one of the last requests of the late Mr Benjamin Garland, whose remains were interred at Cambridge cemetery yesterday afternoon, during the course of the funeral the coffin was draped with the colours of the Cambridge troop of the old Waikato Cavalry. The colours were kindly loaned by Mr Robert Fisher, a fellow trooper of deceased.
The Rev. Dr J. Gibb, minister of St. John’s Presbyterian Church, Wellington, has intimated his intention of resigning his charge and retiring from the ministry. He has been in the ministry for 43 years, 40 of which have been spent in New Zealand. He has been minister of St. John’s since 1903. His resignation will l take effect in April.
