AYRSHIRE BREEDERS
MEETING AT CAMBRIDGE
A representative meeting of Ayrshire breeders was held during the course of the Cambridge Show. Mr R. M. Somerville, South Auckland delegate to the Dominion Council, reported on the increased activities of the Ayrshire Association at Palmcrston North, on the gratifying activities in the Auckland province and the greatly increased appreciation of the utility Ayrshire now being bred in such largo numbers. Mr Somerville mentioned that 24 new members had been added to the Auckland branch during the last few months.
Remits for the annual meeting of the society at Palmerston North were discussed, the object being to strengthen the position of the breed throughout the Dominion./
It is anticipated that there will be a record attendance at the annual meeting, and at the sale of pedigree Ayrshires to take place at the same time. A large contingent of Auckland breeders have already intimated their intention of being present.
There has been promised for next year a number of foundation cows for a sale of pedigree female stock during the 1924 Winter Show at Hamilton. A number of the members expressed gratification at the splendid progress being made by the breed and at the splendid type of farmer now taking up Ayrshires.
