ACCIDENT

MISHAP TO MR F. LYE, M.P.

; Mr Fred. Lye, M.P. for Waikato, met with a very nasty accident on Thursday afternoon, which resulted in his .sustaining a' dislocation of the knee and cuts and bruises. Mr Lye was driving to town from the direction of the Anglican Church cornel', and when 's corner the horse, which was not used to a short-shafter gig, bolted, and raced along Lake Street to the "Waimarie"" corner, where' it crossed the pavement and crashed into the hedge on Mr Lin strom's property- Mr Lye was thrown out and received the injuries mentioned. He was immediately assisted by Mr Linstrom, and conveyed to Dr Stapley, who rendered professional assistance.

Mr Lye's injuries will,keep him confined to his home for several days.
