At the annual conference of the Auckland district Manchester Unity Oddfellows, opened at Auckland on Wednesday, Mr P. T. Glanville, secretary of the Loyal Duke of Cambridge Lodge, was elected a member of the management committee.

A large number of members of the Northern Boxing Association and the Amateur Sports Club assembled at Auckland ,on Wednesday, when presentations were made to Mr Harold Caro, who is leaving Auckland next week for Cambridge. The president of the New Zealand Boxing Council, MrC. F. Saun

ders, spoke highly of the good qualities of the guest as a member of the Northern Boxing Association executive*. On behalf of the Sports Club, Mr Fred Farrell, honorary secretary, made reference to the fact that Mr Caro had been a member for 21 years, and had done good work on the executive, having acted as treasurer. The presentation of some valuable article of silverware was made by Mr Saunders, on behalf of both bodies represented.
