ELECTROCUTION.
(To the Editor). /Sir, —In your report of the inquest on Ernest Holt, it is said the coroner found that deceased was accidentally killed through being electrocuted. There is no sense in such a verdict; because accidental death is not electrocution, nor is electrocution accidental death. When a man dies of electrocution, he is a criminal, executed by a State. Ernest Holt was no criminal, and he should not have the slur of 4 criminality thrust upon him. His accidental death was in no way connected Avith electrocution. In no British coun try does the fiendish method of execu-' tion by electricity obtain. It is the method of New York State, and it is practised at Sing Sing. It is more abhorrent to behold than hanging, which barbarity disgraces our British civilization. —I am, etc.,
